Computers

The New Ballagh Centre has a suite of twelve modern computers all with broadband internet access. The computers have a range of software installed, including Microsoft Office 2007, Internet Explorer 8, and Picasa.

The computer suite can be used by the general public and also for the computer courses that we offer here at the New Ballagh Centre. These courses cover many topics, including Beginners's Computers, all the way up to ECDL and beyond. We also offer such courses as Computerised Accounts and Payroll. See our courses' page for details of the courses that we currently have planned.
Private Tuition

The New Ballagh Centre can also offer one-to-one computer tutition should you need it. This could include such things as an introduction to the internet or email, help with image handling, or advice on how to write up your school or college reports. Contact us on 071 9854030 or 071 9854928 to discuss your needs.

Using the Computer Suite
  • The computer suite is available, subject to availability, during normal office hours (9:30am to 5:00pm weekdays). There is a standard charge of 3 euro per hour (5 cent per minute) for each computer. This includes the use of the internet. Black and White (greyscale) printing is also available at a cost of 10 cent per A4 sheet (colour printing and prices available on request).

    If you are travelling any distance to use a computer here at the New Ballagh Centre it may be advisable to give us a ring first on 071 9854030 or 071 9854928 - just to make sure the suite isn't being use for a class.

  • The computer suite is also available for groups to hire (in the New Ballagh Centre). This may be particularly useful to voluntary and community groups who may need the use of a computer suite to deliver a course. Depending upon the course the New Ballagh Centre may even be able to provide or source a tutor/facilitator for you.
