Crafts at New Ballagh Centre
There is a range of crafts available for sale in the New Ballagh Centre... As well as the range of Celtic Flame hand-made, scented candles that are made here at the Centre, we also have on display a range of postcards - some locally made - and locally made greetings cards, calendars, pottery (including samples from The Leitrim Pottery, based here in Rossinver, just a few miles from the Ballagh Centre itself), and other craft items. Call in at any time during normal office hours (9:30am to 5:00pm) to have a look at what we have to offer.
	Leitrim Pottery Leitrim Pottery is located just a few miles from the New Ballagh Centre. It specialises in the production of functional and decorative traditional stoneware and earthenware pottery. The New Ballagh Centre has a small selection of pottery from Leitrim Pottery for sale. If you want to have a look at more examples of the pottery's work, check out their website. The following is taken from Leitrim Pottery's leaflet:-
"Leitrim Pottery is made by Alan McCluney in Rossinver, just north of Manorhamilton in the glens and near the lakes of North Leitrim. Alan's pottery is inspired by the colours of North Leitrim, whether it's the blue skies refelected in Lough MacNean or the thunder and lightening that\ can sometimes be seen over Lough Melvin. Alan works mostly on the potter's wheel and by his own admission is enthusiastic and lazy by turn so only makes his pottery when it suits him. That means that his pottery is not only collectable but limited. Alan's pottery is fine but strong and can be used on a daily basis (it's dishwasher proof). If you're looking for a unique gift to remind you of Leitrim or the North West in general, think about Leitrim Pottery."
